I took Jack for an eye exam today. After not doing all that great at his annual check-up with the pediatrician I thought it might be best to get a closer look. It turns out he does have some issues with his eyesight but the doctor referred to it as "borderline" and thought it might be something he even outgrows. With that said, she handed me a prescription for glasses and told me it was "optional". Well, Jack didn't care about the "optional" part and as soon as he heard the word "glasses" his whole face lit up and he was shaking with excitement. Even the doctor was a little surprised at his reaction and told him that she hoped he would always get this excited about everything! All he cared about was that now he had his chance to go pick out his own glasses and wear them just like Grace!! Of course, they just have to be dark blue...
So, as you'll see below, we headed for our home away from home these days, Lens Crafters. I know they say they'll be ready "in about an hour" but I was afraid Jack would take "about an hour" to find the right pair!! Luckily, he surprised me and we ended up getting the very first ones he picked out and yes, they were dark blue!!
Just like the doctor, I do truly hope he can always get that excited about any new adventure life may have in store for him.
