"They can't all be happy" March 2012

Christmas 2010

December 24, 2010

The holiday started off well! We spent Christmas Eve at Grammy's, had Christmas morning at home and then headed up to Rhode Island for a week. It was non stop fun until the dreaded stomach bug swept through the whole family! It was days of misery for all of us right up though New Year's Eve! This is one Christmas we will never forget. These pictures are from the fun part of the holiday...

Road Trip!

December 18, 2010

Thankfully it wasn't our road trip this time but we were so glad the Butler's decided to make one this weekend to visit us and New York City. We had a great dinner with all my college roommates and their kids Saturday night and we all headed into the city on Sunday to see the sights! It was such a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. We did Rockefeller Center, FAO Shcwarz and of course "afternoon tea" at the American Girl Store. It was a perfect day and a perfect weekend. So glad to have you guys here. It's our turn next...see you in Chicago this summer hopefully!!

thought this was fun...

Christmas Show

December 15, 2010

One nice thing about Catholic school is that they actually have a Christmas Show. You can also easily say "Merry Christmas" without any hesitation. It's kind of nice. Anyway, the day before the show when I picked up Jack he told me he was "done with school". He's tired of singing and tired of music class! I guess they had them practicing quite a bit and Jack had had his fill. He claimed he didn't know any of the words but as show time approached he was so excited and as you can see he knew just about every word.

Right before the show....

Trim the tree

December 11, 2010

I know a lot of people have made the wise choice of going artificial when it comes to the tree but for some reason we can't seem to say no to the sticky "sap" hands and pine needle covered floors. There's just something about that smell of a Christmas tree that brings back so many memories, so we've decided to stick it out and "keep it real" (for this year anyway!)

Jack and Grace couldn't wait to get started and Carsten didn't know what was going on. Just a lot of shiny new things to touch and throw!!
