"They can't all be happy" March 2012

Next House!

October 31, 2010

Carsten had no trouble getting into Halloween this year. By the second house, he clearly got the hang of this thing and was liking that all he had to do was to say three little words to get unlimited amounts of lollipops. He would immediately open the lollipop and as soon as he got to the next house, he would hand over the old lollipop for the new one. This was one great set up for him, too bad it's only once a year! Grace and Jack didn't even have time to look at their candy since they were too busy sprinting to the next house. Everyone is still on that sugar high. Carsten actually woke up the next morning saying "next house, next house"

rocks may be the ONLY thing more interesting than lollipops for Carsten

trick or treating in New Providence

October 29, 2010

Every year our town opens up it's stores just for kids to trick or treat. Although it's not what they refer to it as, I like to call it "chaos on the sidewalks". Either way it's a good warm up for the real thing on Sunday.

"Blue" gets ready to go

Ok...I'm tired already

We hit the stores

"talk to him"

October 28, 2010

Carsten gets VERY excited when he gets to talk to Daddy on the phone. I keep saying I have to take some video since Chris never gets to actually "see" him talking to him. He likes to talk very fast as if he's carrying on a real conversation, only trouble is he starts in a completely different language. I swear he has a great vocabulary...but you wouldn't know it from this video!!!!

She's really 100???

October 26, 2010

Grace and Jack just couldn't believe they knew someone that was turning 100!!! That whole week they told perfect strangers that they had an aunt who was 100. And of course Grace had to add that that is where she got her middle name! As we waited in the lobby of her apartment, they proceeded to tell all the little old ladies who were passing by that they were going to a birthday party for someone who was 100! We were fortunate enough to all be there to celebrate with her. I just wish I had taken more pictures but the kids weren't exactly cooperating that night so this was all I could squeeze in. Happy Birthday Aunt Ella!

In the leaves

October 23, 2010

Fall would not be complete without an annual" picture taking in the leaves" afternoon. We had ours today and it was a good break from all the raking and bagging. They seem to accumulate faster than you can pick them up these days but that's exactly what the kids want, isn't it?

At least it's not snow...yet!

Winter Uniform

October 12, 2010

As the weather changes so does our morning routine. We've had to add a little extra time these days to put on Jack's "winter uniform" which is much more involved than the fall one. I don't why they need to make it so complicated but I must say it makes for one cute kid....

Off to the Farm

October 10, 2010

We took our 2nd annual trip to Alstede Farms this weekend and we were able to bring along Nana & Poppy for their 2nd trip as well. We also had some surprise visitors come along for the ride this year, Cam, Ally & Auntie Mel!! We thought we'd show them what this Garden State has to offer. Hay stacks, hay tunnels, hay rides, rows and rows of pumpkins but best of all the most delicious warm apple cinnamon donuts I've ever had. It was a beautiful fall day and I'm sure we'll be back yet again next year to do it all over again. I don't care how crowded it was, those donuts are worth it!

Of course Carsten is happy wherever there is DIRT

I find corn kernels to be a MUCH better option

One ugly pumpkin
