It's "Complicated"

January 30, 2010

Here we go again... we spent another few hours in the emergency room this morning with Carsten. Even the receptionist told us " how he was going to give us a run for our money" after seeing that we were just here a few months ago! After falling over something, or into something, we don't know for sure, he cut his lip and we knew right away we were headed to the hospital! Grace and Jack went into "were going to the hospital again" mode and were bundled up and in the car in no time. Chris on the other hand didn't handle the trauma as well. However, he was the one who stayed with Carsten through the hardest part as the plastic surgeon gave him his 6+ stitches. We were told to go home and "limit his activity" and only give him clear liquids for 24 hours! Much easier said than done....he clearly doesn't have children! Poor kid just wanted a bottle and to stop having both his parents following his every step! We're glad those 24 hours are over.....now onto the next 24 hours!

oh and did I mention it was Chris birthday today.....

**Before the incident** Breakfast in Bed for Dad

**After the incident** Of course it's "complicated"

A peanut butter ball "cake" to end a rather crazy day!

Happy 34th Chris

It wasn't all fun and games

January 29, 2010

Chris and two of his friends from work had a mini ski holiday in Jackson Hole, Wyoming this week. Of course, I had to hear all about the amazing slopes, 4 course dinners, hours in the hot tub and all the beautiful views. Thanks to our flip video he was able to capture some of those views, but the video below is by far my favorite view from the trip!! I just want to thank Keith (who took this video) for keeping the camera rolling..it was so worth it!! I couldn't help but post this...

"ginastics & leotarts"

January 11, 2010

Grace started gymnastics today and as you can see we need to work on the terminology a bit. After we clarified a few of the words she was off and running with so much enthusiasm and endless amounts of energy. I stayed to watch and I don't think I've ever seen her so excited about anything. She continually "bounced" everywhere, from station to station and even while waiting in line. She couldn't contain herself!

The first thing her teacher, Ms. Amanda, said was how much she loved her "fancy schmancy" leotard (thanks to her cousin Ally for giving us some of hers!) We figure even if it doesn't end up being her "thing" we're going to at least look good doing it.

Terror on Two Feet

January 3, 2010

Carsten is an official walker! He started right after Christmas and hasn't stopped! A whole new world for him (and for me). Now it's time to move everything we own up a shelf and out of reach. He is, without a doubt, my terror on two feet opening every nook and cranny of this house.

Did I mention he's a dancer too....be careful though, if you blink you might miss it!!!
