"They can't all be happy" March 2012

What was that??

May 31, 2009

It was quite the crazy day!  Carsten was baptized today and I don't think I've ever seen anything like it! 11 babies were baptized in under an hour and I'm pretty sure some religious record was broken today!!  Even though it felt more like the "Baptism Expresss" rather than a religious ceremony it was still a nice day and Carsten was very well behaved.  We followed it up with a lunch "hibachi" style and I think the kids may still be traumatized from some of the events (see above picture)!! Still good food and most importantly good company!

Thanks to Jeniene for taking some great photos! Click HERE to see them!!

You can do it Carsten....

May 30, 2009

Carsten is so close to rolling over! As you can see in this picture, Grace, Jack & Ally waited patiently to see it happen for the first time but Carsten wasn't quite ready.  The did offer him a lot of encouragement though and I'm pretty sure it will be any day now....stay tuned!

In between trying to get Carsten to roll over, we had some fun out in the backyard....finally getting some good weather...

"Can you see this line..??"

May 27, 2009

I took Grace to the eye doctor today.  They wanted to check her vision and make sure she was doing ok with her glasses.  I have to say I am very surprised at how well she has done with them.  She keeps them on all the time (even though she doesn't have too) mostly forgetting that they are on her half the time and even falling asleep with them.  As far as the actual appointment goes, it was a little strange for me.  After having had to go myself so many times since I was a little girl, I watched her sit in the chair and this time I was on the other side.  Holding her hand as she tried so hard to make out the letters on each line, I wanted so badly to help her and just shout out the letter for her!  It was hard to watch her struggle on some letters yet so exciting when she got them right.  I wanted to jump up and give her a high five.  For the first time, I realized exactly how my mom and dad must have felt all these years at those appointments with me.  I'll be there to root you on every time Grace, I promise!

Saturday in the park with Greg!

May 16, 2009

The sun was out today so we took advantage!  We had a big day out with Uncle Greg in Hoboken. The kids were so excited to see Uncle Greg's apartment and take a tour of where he lives!!  They heard a rumor that Hoboken has lots of playgrounds and it was proven to be true.  Everywhere we turned there was a cool park or fun place to eat! At one point we walked into a brand new candy store filled with bowls and bowls of sweets and on a big screen TV was the movie "CARS"!  I don't know if I've ever seen Jack so happy. (Greg and I had a pretty good time filling up some bags ourselves!) I can assure you Greg....we'll be back!

He did it!!

May 16, 2009

Carsten turned 3 months old on Thursday and decided to celebrate!  He slept through the night last night!!  We were shocked and of course I could barely sleep since I was so excited....ironic, isn't it?  I'm sure it won't last (since it never does with our kids) but I will take it as a good sign and a move in the right direction!  We'll keep you posted....

"Noah was a righteous man..."

May 12, 2009

Jack had his spring concert "Noah's Ark" today at school.  I didn't realize until the curtain opened that he was the lead! Ok, maybe I'm getting carried away.  While this wasn't a speaking role, he was required to open and close the door to the ark and stand there and look cute.  I think he did an excellent job if you ask me but you can see for yourself here in this very amateur video....I think the most animated he got was when he realized Grammy was in the audience (as you'll see right as the video begins...listen carefully!)

Who knows what the future holds for our leading man....America's Got Talent, American Idol or maybe we'll just settle for next year's nursery school Christmas Nativity play!

Mother's Day Mulch

May 9, 2009

It may not be your typical Mother's Day gift but it was EXACTLY what I wanted!  I think I was actually more excited to see the truck pull up than Jack.  We worked all day and I love the way our yard looks now....yeah!!  Of course, I still have plenty more for Chris to do next weekend.  It just never ends when you own a home!!

Looking forward to a relaxing Mother's Day at home tomorrow with the kids.  I already got my presents from the kids because they couldn't wait until tomorrow!  Lucky me, I know have my own set of plastic ketchup & mustard dispensers hand picked by Jack from the dollar store. Grace knows I have a sweet tooth and got me M&M's & Twix (I'm sure she's hoping I will share them with her).  Gotta love being a mom....

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there...I hope you were delivered something special today too!

"J" is for Jonas Brothers

May 8, 2009

Grace was working on an alphabet book today where she needs to draw something on each page that corresponds to the letter of the alphabet.  Naturally, when she got to "J" she had to draw Joe Jonas.  Notice the hair!  She told me that's how he wears it (over one eye) so that's how she had to draw it!

I have a brother?

May 3, 2009

It's official, Jack has acknowledged his baby brother.  It did take a solid 3 months but we're just glad it finally happened. He gave him a kiss twice today (unsolicited) and actually asked to hold him tonight.  I would have taken a picture of course but as soon as I ran for the camera, Jack says "no pictures mom"!  Oh well, I can't ask for everything at once!  I promise to capture it on camera eventually (when he's not looking)!
