I had this perfect image of leaving the hospital. We would get someone to take the perfect family picture of all us for the first time and then we would all happily walk out together as a new family of 5! I should know by now, it never goes as planned. Instead, it was pure chaos. Forget about a family picture. You need a family for that! Chris had to go move the car which was illegally parked outside, the nurses rushed me into a wheelchair and out the door almost forgetting Carsten! And of course, Jack wouldn't even look at me...his life was about to change and I was to blame. It wasn't the picture I had imagined but it certainly tells a story and that's what it's all about, right? Lesson for the day, it will never go as planned but just go with it anyway....
Can we stay here one more night?

We had plenty of visitors come to meet Carsten, but I will say that Mom & Dad enjoyed the down time with Carsten in the hospital. Where else can you hold your new baby tight, sit next to each other while watching a movie, and enjoy a delicious treat of grapes and cheese and then give your baby to the nursery so you can actually sleep!
It will be tougher than we thought to leave...but we're looking forward to living life with 3 kids!
Table for 5
As Grace pointed out today, we now have to ask for a" Table for 5" wherever we go! Hence the title of our new family blog!
Our little addition came 2 1/2 weeks early and surprised us all. Well, not exactly since Mom & Dad knew we were having a boy all along! We tried to keep it a surprise for everyone else.....not sure how we did with that!
